This review is totally unsolicited and just my opinion on the ShineMate EP820 I would call myself an experienced, enthusiast rotary polisher having owned an ex bodyworks heavy duty dual speed sander/polisher for nearly 40 years and used it on family and friends cars over that period.

Recent times have shown the old machine was just too heavy on vertical surfaces for efficient use as I aged nearly 40 years since first purchasing, I started to research for a replacement polisher. That machine needed to be powerful, a lot lighter, have a minimum 6 inch 150mm pad, speed control, rotary action, and not orbital, ergonomic design and not be a crazy price, big ask I was thinking.

I came across the ShineMate and read the story on their purpose built factory and then the specifications on most of their models trying to match one up to my requirements and the EP820 sounded pretty good and the double deduction gear system and 24 months warranty sold me and at the right price, so a few days later it arrived.

It took me less than a few hours use to what I thought from the specifications sheet would be a pretty good replacement machine to realise it was not pretty good but amazing a brilliant light weight polisher that well and truly out performed my high expectations. Ease of use was number one, powerful yes it sure is, speed control and trigger speed control works for me, never had that before, felt good in my hands.
