- Work in a cool, shaded area: avoid using the products in direct sunlight or on a hot surface as this can cause it to dry too quickly and potentially damage the paint.
- Pre-wash your car: We recommend giving your car a thorough wash and dry to help loosen up the stubborn contaminants that you are wanting to remove with the Tar X or Bug remover product. This can also help the bug and tar remover work more effectively.
- Apply generously: Spray the bug and tar remover directly onto the affected areas, making sure to cover the contaminants completely.
- Let it sit: Allow the product to sit for a few minutes, this will help break down the bug splatter and tar. NOTE: Avoid leaving on for more than 7-10 minutes.
- Gently agitate: Use a microfiber cloth to gently scrub the treated areas, this will further help to lift the contaminants without scratching the paint.
- Rinse thoroughly: It is very important to thoroughly rinse the treated area to ensure the proper removal of any left over product.
- Dry and inspect: Dry the area with a clean microfiber drying towel and inspect to ensure all contaminants have been removed. Repeat the process if necessary.
