Simply put, the benefits of using detailing brushes are that they allow you to clean harder to reach areas to a higher level. Microfiber cloth's which are commonly used for interior cleaning struggle to get into all the tiny places, corners and edges of say cupholders, air con vents, and more! Alternatively on the exterior of the car, detailing brushes can help improve the quality of your clean for more of the intricate areas, such as around badges, around wheels and in the engine bay. Overall detailing brushes can be fantastic tools to help you get better, and easier results when cleaning both your interior and exterior.

Depending on what area of the car you are focusing on, dictates what type of detailing brush you will use. Softer brushes are typically recommended for your interior surfaces such as your dashboard, leather surfaces, cupholders & more. These can also be used on more sensitive areas on the exterior of the car as well. Stiffer brushes on the other hand may be favoured when looking at carpets & upholstery, as well as wheels, badges, engine bays, wheel arches & other exterior surfaces. We have a variety of detailing brush kit’s available that come with a variety of detailing brushes with different bristles & sizes.

Maintaining your detailing brushes is simple. After each use, rinse them thoroughly with warm water to remove any residue. You can agitate the bristles with your fingers to ensure any trapped residue is removed. For stubborn dirt, you can use a standard pH neutral car wash or a light dilution of an APC to help aid this. Once cleaned, gently shake off excess water and leave the brushes to air dry, preferably bristles facing down to prevent water from soaking into the handle. Regular maintenance like this will help ensure your brushes remain effective and prolong their lifespan.
