We recommend cleaning and conditioning your car leather at least once every 3-6 months depending on use to remove any dirt or grime build up as well as moisturising the leather.

Although some leather conditioners have cleaning agents, they focus mainly on hydrating the leather. Car leather cleaners on the other hand are specifically formulated to lift oils, dirt, grime & other contaminants from automotive leather surfaces, whilst also providing some level of hydration to the leather.
It’s best to use a leather conditioner/protectant after using a leather cleaner, but is essential to clean your car leather seats & upholstery thoroughly and properly before protecting them - otherwise your protection will not perform at an optimal level.

To avoid damaging your leather car seats we recommend only using dedicated leather cleaners, conditioners and protectants. Some products such as Carpro Inside are versatile and are able to be diluted in order to clean multiple different surfaces found throughout a cars interior.

You can expect a leather coating on average to last roughly between 8 months to 2 years. Carpro Leather 2.0 for example will last roughly 1-2 years. During this period, the leather coating will protect your leather seats and interior from stains, marks, UV wear and abrasions.

Alcantara is a type of synthetic microfibre fabric and is not a type of leather, our leather conditioners and protectants will not be suitable for this type of material. Please see our fabric protectant collection to find protection suitable for Alcantara protection.
