The Lake Country Low Lint SDO pads are a knitted prewashed lambswool which provides exceptional heavy cutting ability. This pad works great on all paint systems to remove oxidation, scratches, swirls and waterspots. It has a very high cutting ability, and can actually finish down quite well on some harder paint systems.
This pad is used for heavy compounding, and brings fourth superior cutting abilities compared to both foam and microfiber. We recommend using these pad when you are chasing heavy defects, or thinking sanding is your best bet. -

So what's the difference between SDO and HDO?
Lake Country are always innovating and pushing the limits of pad technology, this is no different with there new HDO and SDO CCS line of pads, so what's the difference?
Essentially, HDO pads are designed to have increased performance with long throw Dual Action polishers, while SDO Pads are more designed towards forced rotation, rotary or other Non-long throw dual action polishers.
SDO pads are slightly thinner than HDO pads, as a result SDO offers a lower price point and an alternative for users of forced rotation polishers.

I restored headlights very quickly after sanding. First use will send lots of loose fibres around but will stop after using for a while.

Is the back of the pad soft or hard?

States pre-washed but they shed sommuch during first use. After three sets of passes and using a brush to clean the pad it’s all good. I use these with Clearcut when heavy defects are visible. Would love to tell you that the combination and using a DA makes easing work of the defects on hard clear coat, but that would be a lie. Still need to do at least three sets of passes when defects are heavy on hard clear coat. I also found the pads do wear quickly so don’t buy one pad, use two or three on entire car to prolong the life of pad and minimise the heat.
Otherwise they are good value for money.
