Koch Chemie’s Ceramic Rims Cr0.01 protects your painted rim’s from the harsh road environments.
Ceramic Rims Cr0.01 is Koch Chemie’s powerful rim / wheel ceramic coating which can be used on most painted wheel surfaces to provide long-lasting protection to the rims of your car, truck, bike, caravan and more!
The thin protective ceramic layer permanently bonds to the surface through a chemical reaction called 'Flashing'. This chemical reaction is started by air humidity and solvents evaporating, leaving a hardened surface behind. This hardened surface is UV resistant and chemical resistant, protecting your rim’s surfaces from environmental influences such as UV radiation, road salt, tar, and brake dust as well as reducing mechanical damage.
Ceramic Body Cb0.01 also creates a very hydrophobic surface with highly advanced roll-off properties, repelling dirt, brake dust and other contaminates left by rain, but also making it easier to clean when washing, reducing physical contact and therefore reducing swirl marks and scratches. -
- Safe for all painted rims surfaces.
- Bonds fantastically to your rims.
- Creates a powerful hydrophobic effect with advanced roll-off properties.
- Protects your rim’s surface from UV rays, bird poo, dead bugs and other contaminants.
- Durability of up to 12 months (depending on maintenance).
Specifications- Coverage: Consumption depending on rim size and spoke design. approx: 5-7 ml per rim.
- Durability: Up to 12 months (depending on maintenance care).
Important Notes- Before use, please read the hazard warnings on the container or outer carton and take appropriate protective measures.
- Ceramic Rims Cr0.01 reacts with humidity. This can cause crystals to form on the bottle when the bottle is opened. If these crystals get onto the application pen, the surface to be coated can possibly be scratched. Therefore, the crystals must be wiped off with a cloth before the product is dripped onto the application pad.
- For double coats, a drying time of approx. 30 minutes should be observed after the first coat, depending on the temperature and humidity.
-
Directions
- Before use, please read the hazard warnings on the container or outer carton and take appropriate protective measures.
- We highly recommend familiarizing yourself with the ceramic coating process by thoroughly reading the instructions and watching videos beforehand to understand the process.
- Make sure to thoroughly wash & decontaminate the rim’s surface and do any paint correction before ceramic coating your rims. Use the application pen for application and coat the surface with Ceramic Rims Cr0.01.
- Spread the ceramic evenly over the surface.
- After application, a thin, closed liquid film must be visible. Allow the product to flash, then proceed to level off and remove any excess residue with a levelling or Coating Towel.
- Optimal conditions for flashing: Temperature from 15°C to 25°C. Humidity from 40% - 50%. If the temperature/humidity is higher, the flash time will be shorter. If the temperature/humidity is lower, the reaction cannot take place properly.
- Check the result with the proper car detailing lighting to ensure that it is free of any high spots.
- See “aftercare & maintenance” tab below for what to do once the coating has been applied.
-
Aftercare
- The coating is only weatherproof after at least 24 hours.
- First vehicle wash should be after nine days at the earliest, as the coating is not fully cured until then.
- At low outside temperatures (below 15°C / 59°F), the curing time is extended. Nevertheless, dirt should be carefully removed as quickly as possible during the first nine days.
- The application of Spray Sealant S0.02 or Hand Wax W0.01 is recommended after 24 hours to protect the not yet fully cured ceramic coating.
- Cleaning agents with pH values below 3 or above 12 should be avoided.
- An opened bottle can be kept for a maximum of 6 months, check the bottle for crystallization before use. We recommend storing the bottle in the fridge.
Maintaining your Ceramic coating
One of the most important things about ceramic coatings is the aftercare and maintenance required to increase the durability and longevity. Ceramic coatings are not a set and forget product, as without proper maintenance a coating will deteriorate quicker.
Ceramic coatings are chemically resistant and will repel dirt, grime, road film, minerals, oils stains, bird poo, waterspots and more, however they are not immune to these contaminants. Leaving these types of contaminants on the surface and letting them 'etch' into the coating over an extended period of time will significantly reduce the life of the coating.
Regular washing (every couple of weeks) with a pH neutral cleaning soap, along with a periodic maintenance wash with a more powerful decontamination soap (every 3-6 months), along with topping up the coating with other spray or temporary coatings will ensure the longevity of your ceramic coating.
